About the Speaker(s)

Linda Northrop, Opening Keynote

Linda has more than 35 years of experience in the software development field as a practitioner, researcher, manager, consultant, and educator. She is currently director of the Research, Technology and System Solutions Program at the SEI where she leads the work in architecture practices, software product lines, advanced mobile computing, and cyber-physical and ultra-large-scale systems research. Under her leadership, the SEI has developed software architecture and product line methods that are used worldwide, a series of five highly acclaimed books, and software architecture and software product line curricula that include 11 courses and 6 certificate programs.

Rob Wojcik, Eliciting and Specifying Quality Attribute Requirements

Rob is a senior member of the technical staff in the Research, Technology, and System Solutions Program at the Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI), a position he has held since 2004. In his current position, he performs training and consulting in software architecture technology and software architecture evaluations.

Ipek Ozkaya, Achieving Agility and Stability in Large-Scale Software Development

Ipek is a senior member of the technical staff in the Research, Technology, and System Solutions Program at the SEI. She is currently engaged in activities focusing on large-scale agile and architecture and works to develop, apply, and communicate effective methods to improve software development efficiency. She is a frequent presenter at academic and industry conferences, and co-author of several articles on subjects including Agile architecting and architectural technical debt. Ozkaya serves as the chair of the advisory board of the IEEE Software magazine and is also a member of the technical faculty for the Master of Software Engineering Program at Carnegie Mellon University.

Mike Gagliardi, Uncovering Architectural Challenges in a System of Systems

Mike has more than 25 year’s experience in real-time, mission-critical software architecture and engineering activities on a variety of DoD systems. He currently works in the SEI Research, Technology, and System Solutions Program in the Architecture Practices initiative, and is leading the development of architecture evaluation and quality attribute specification methods for system and system-of-system architectures.
